Hi David, Michael is a writer from some years ago then....?
The only thing that's fixed is change?

Interesting to read Cobbett's 'Rural Rides' and compare his memoires of the weather and not-so-strange commentary on farming, life in general, his ascerbic comments on the Wen (the epicentre of the Universe, or is that the Big Apple?), City financiers and the Government (and their damnable taxation)...Br, Denis.

Hi Alison,

Funnily enough, they all merge together in that age old predictable sequence…there’s no sharp boundaries, just that imposed by our ordering ‘calendar’.

All they really mean is the pulling on the deep call of ‘forming’ primordial times, and whenever the heck we started to get serious about being modern (even if that was ‘neanderthal’..!).

Every season has it’s own challenges, and senses, and inspiration …Probably the strongest being the easing into a Spring, and the drifting out of Summer into early Autumn…they are the energy times……the rest are survival time zones when we can reap the crops of our energy …Spring about the setting of things to be done….early Autumn about preparing for the long nights and short days…

We are very closely related to the ‘Jungle’ and not really hugely smart at all…we’re certainly ‘smart animals’ but nothing else….there’s no ‘us and them’.

Is it the same in the southern hemisphere but 6 months a-kilter?

Kind regards, Denis.

I can offer only empathy. When I was a child and visiting rather better off friends, I was in awe of the fact that they had a BOX of apples. They were W. Ps and I still remember the mellow flavour and the soft flesh (this is getting quite exciting.
